Recount Text 

Personal Recount Text adalah teks yang menceritakan tentang pengalaman sendiri atau orang lain, atau kejadian di masa lalu yang diceritakan secara runtut dan terstruktur.  Dengan tujuan untuk menghibur pembaca atau berbagi pengalaman.

Social function: 

Recount is The text that retells past events or experiences 

Ingat, kata kerja yang digunakan dalam recount text adalah kata kerja ke 2 atau past tense. 

Generic Structure

Orientation : pengenalan tokoh atau peristiwa yang akan diceritakan didalam teks serta gambaran umum tentang latar belakang cerita tersebut. Bisa menjelaskan siapa, kapan dan dimana kejadian itu terjadi. 

Events : menceritakan kejadian atau peristiwa secara runtut dari awal hingga akhir.

Re-orientation : rangkuman dari awal cerita atau pandangan penulis tentang cerita recount tersebut 

Contoh recount text

Last week my friend and I were very bored, so we rode our bicycles to the beach. its only five kilometres from my house.

First, we looked for and collected sea Shells. Next, we built a sand castle and decorated it with the shells.  Then, we had a swim because we were very dirty. After having a swim, we sat down for a while. before we went home, we bought some fish from a fisherman.

we felt very tired but we were happy. It was a wonderful experience.

2. Who were very bored last week?

3. What is the social function of the text?

4. What did the writer  and friend do after built a sand castle?

4. How did the writer feel after going to the beach?

Jawaban dan pembahasan soal:

1. The text talked about Went to the Beach. 

(pembahasan : mereka (penulis dan temannya) merasa bosan dan pergi ke pantai yang jaraknya hanya 5km dari rumah)

2. The writer and his friend.

(pembahasan: Who artinya siapa dan menanyakan orang yang bored di text adalah writer atau penulis sendiri atau I dan temannya)

3. To Retell the past event or experience

(pembahasan : social function atau fungsi sosial dari text recount adalah Retell past event or experience)

4. They had a swim because They were very dirty

(pembahasan : kenapa ada They..? They artinya mereka. adalah kata ganti dari I and my friend)

5. They felt very tired but they were very happy.

(pembahasan: kenapa They..? They artinya mereka.  adalah kata ganti dari I and my friend)
